I've forgot to mention that building on AIX requires 2 additional tweaks
in configure.in (I'm to stupid in autoconf):
1) CFLAGS must be extended using "-D_LINUX_SOURCE_COMPAT"
2) must be linked against libperflib (LDFLAGS+="-lperflib")

Probably someone with more autotools knowledge can add this.
